Yellow fever vaccine shortage: Frequently asked questions for health professionals (FAQ)
In August 2013 Sanofi Pasteur MSD experienced an unforeseen delay in the manufacturing of Yellow Fever vaccine (Stamaril® single dose). This situation is likely to continue until January 2014.
The following FAQ has been produced in response to queries from YFVC about this vaccine shortage.

Public Health England (PHE) and National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) are reminding people planning to travel to Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage to check the latest health advice issued in light of on-going cases of respiratory illness caused by the Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV). Polio vaccine reminder for travellers to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza
Following the identification of naturally occurring or 'wild' poliovirus in sewage samples in Israel, Public Health England and NaTHNaC are reminding UK residents travelling to Israel, or the West Bank and Gaza in Palestine, to make sure they are up-to-date with their routine immunisations and have had a polio containing vaccine in the past 10 years.
