Update to UK Malaria Guidelines
The Advisory Committee on Malaria Prevention (ACMP) has published an update to Guidelines for malaria prevention in travellers from the United Kingdom for 2003 .
In part this update includes
- A change in recommendation for Assam in India in response to increasing Plasmodium falciparum drug resistance
- An emphasis that all travellers to the Dominican Republic should be advised to take either chloroquine or proguanil prophylaxis.
- A change in recommendation for Kyrgyzstan.
- Updated information on the use of Malarone in pregnancy.
