1 April 2005: Chagas' disease in Brazil

The Communicable Disease Report Weekly has reported an outbreak of American trypanosomiasis (Chagas' disease) in Santa Catarina in southern Brazil.

There have been a total of 31 confirmed cases including five deaths. The outbreak has been associated with the consumption of sugar cane juice.
